Daily Challenges: Tuesday 31st March
Today's challenges are...
Good morning Team Barnes,
What amazing learning from yesterday! I saw some amazing Easter crafts, maths, RWI and so much more. Thank you to those of you who chose to make me a card too.
Here are your challenges for home learning today:
Maths:
Starter: Counting in 2s https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GvTcpfSnOMQ
Challenge: Adding- to combine two groups of objects. I know that when we add we combine (put together) two or more groups and the number gets… bigger. Go around the house and find some objects. How could you add them together? Can you use the language of add, plus, altogether, equals, total? Do you know what they all mean?
E.g I have three teddies in this group. I have four dinosaurs in this group. If I add them together then I have ….
Extention: Use the addtion and equals symbol. Can you write the calculation to match in your yellow book?
Super challenge: Can you add by counting on from the first number to make it quicker? E.g. 8+2= I can put the number 8 in my head and count on two more 9, 10. The answer is 10.

Topic: Spring
What is spring? What happens in spring? It is a season. Can you remember how many seasons there are? When does spring come? What season is it after? What season is next?
I have attached a power point about Spring and what happens in spring. What changes might you see happen in spring?
Challenge: Can you go on a hunt around the garden or on a walk and look for any new flowers, bugs etc and describe what is happening to them. What is new? What changes are happening?
You may also want to complete one of the other spring activities attached or some of the spring crafts too. I know how much you all loved it yesterday.
Useful links: I have attached some useful speech and language support materials to use at home which you may find useful.
