Yesterday we looked at addition by making 10. By using our number bonds we can solve addition problems more quickly!  

To deepen our understanding when we do Maths, it is good to try and solve a variety of different problems on the same topic. If you want to master your addition by making 10 look at the powerpoint IALT add by making 10 to see different ways of applying our understanding of adding by making 10. Then have a go at the sheet Year-1-Spring-Block-1-Step-3-VF-Add-By-Making-10.  

Remember there are 3 levels of difficulty – D, E and GD. The easiest is D and the hardest is GD! 

 

English   Can I edit and revise a poem ? 

Editing and revising means checking your spellings and checking that what you have written makes sense and comes across in the way that you want it to. Use a different coloured pen or pencil to make any corrections.  

You may wish to add to your poem,  or change the word order around a bit to help it sound better. Remember reading it out loud to yourself is one of the best ways to check how what you have written sounds. 

Please read your poem out loud to yourself or to your adult to check that it sounds the way you intend it to. If you have chosen to use rhyme, ensure that the way you have written your sentences works with the rhyming.  Often rhyming words are at the end of every other line.

Set 3 “ur" Nurse with a purse. Visit YouTube for longer words including variations – ir/er/ur

1) Slurp your drink and eat up your cheese burger.

 Topic   IK the countries of the UK and their capital cities 

 

Cast your minds back to term 1 when we learnt about the 4 countries in the UK and their capital cities. 

What do the flags for each country look like and which plants are celebrated as emblems (symbols of representation) in each country? 

Attached is a quiz sheet for you to complete. You may need to ask you adults to help you or you may like to do some research to find out the answers. You may have an encyclopaedia, atlas or map book at home or you may like to do your research on the internet. Some of the facts you may well remember!
