Maths: Can you go on the weights and measures scavenger hunt today? Take lots of photos of your findings!

English: Well done for a great start on your stories so far. Today we are going to continue writing your moral. Remember to look back at your plan from Friday to help you. Today I would like you to write the main part of your story. Thinking about how your characters are going to learn the moral e.g. in the boy who cried wolf this is when the boy keeps lying to the village but after they stop believing him there really is a wolf.

Spelling: This week we are looking at the i sound spelt with a y. Can you complete the word chargers activity below?

Topic: Today is the start of our new topic, What We Wear. Today we are going to name and describe properties a range of materials. Which is a recap from year 1. Last year you all completed a topic all about materials you made lamp shades – learning about opaque and transparent materials, you created feely boards and you learnt to describe and name materials). This term, you will be learning all about fashion and materials used for the fashion world. You will learn about where materials come from and what they are made of.

Task 1: Can you go and find these materials in your house:

wood, glass, fabric, plastic, rubber, stone, paper

Task 2: Can you think of other objects which are made from these materials?

Task 3: Why do you think these materials chosen for these objects?

Task 4: Can you make an interactive poster to show everything you know about materials. You can use scraps of materials to attach your poster and write about these materials.

 Helping at Home:  Can you help today by helping sort the recycling?
