What is a minibeast?
How many can we spot and name?
As part of our ongoing topic on All Things Great and Small, this week we started learning about the small creatures on our planet...minibeasts! We learnt that a minibeast is an invertebrate and they come in all different shapes and sizes! We had great fun looking for minibeasts in our outdoor area and over the week we focused on particular minibeasts. We learnt that mosquitoes and dragonflies actually existed in prehistory! We also learnt about bees and how important they are for our food production as well as for making yummy honey! And we ended the week learning about minibeasts with no legs - worms, slugs and snails - we were fascinated to learn that worms taste with their bodies! Wow minibeasts are so interesting!
