Isle of Wight update

We have heard back from the coach company and have some further details, especially in terms of timings for Sunday...

The children need to be in school at 9am on Sunday 4th June for departure to the Isle of Wight. The coach will be arriving at 9:15 for a 9:30 departure; however we need to check them in, ensure a handover of any medication and then load the coach.

Children will meet outside the main entrance. Please ensure all medication is clearly labelled and is presented to a member of staff, rather than packed away. Also, if your child suffers from travel sickness, and require travel sickness medication, please take measures to ensure they are ready for the 9:30 departure time.

A reminder too, that the children will need a packed lunch for the coach journey - no fizzy drinks or glass bottles please. The first opportunity for the children to eat will be the evening meal at the centre (around 5:30pm) - so they may want a few snacks as well.

We will have one opportunity to visit the site shop - it sells mementos and sweets. Please do not send any more than £10 to ensure it is fair for all children. This is ample money to get a lovely keepsake and/or a few treats for the return journey.

Please see the previous blog post for the kit list as well as the list of activities the children will be undertaking.

At the moment, we are estimating a return time of around 6pm on the Wednesday, though we will endeavour to keep the school updated of our travelling status, who in turn will message you as we approach.

Mrs Hughes has created a social story to help explain the main threads of the trip for those children who may find all the information overwhelming. Please feel free to share it with your child if you feel it would benefit them - it is attached below.
