We have been learning how to create non-fiction texts relating to our topic on animals and we have been looking at our pets. Unfortunately, one of the disadvantages of having a pet that we love is that they can sometimes go missing.
Have a look at the LOST poster below. What kind of pet has gone missing? What does their pet look like? Where and when did it go missing? Why is it important to have all this information on a LOST poster?
Imagine you have lost a beloved pet and you need to create your own poster to try and find your pet. In your books, can you draw your own LOST poster. Can you make it big and bold you should aim to fill the whole page!
Remember these features:

Large and bold eye catching title

Picture of your pet

Your pet’s name

A short description of what your pet looks like

Where and when they were last seen

Your contact number.

Today’s learning intention is; ‘I am learning to compare the structures of different animals, including pets’
Below I have saved some pictures of different animals. If you can, print them out and cut out two. Stick them next to each other to compare them. You might have animal pictures that you can use at home or you can draw your own!
Compare the two animals by looking at whether they have legs, wings, feathers or fur etc... I have saved examples of sentence structures below as well. But here is another example; ‘The crocodile has sharp teeth and four legs whereas the pigeon has a small beak, two legs and wings.’
Use the vocabulary ‘but, however and whereas’ for your comparisons.
