Hi Team Rees-Boughton!
Well Done for all your AMAZING home learning yesterday! I was so happy to receive some really lovely emails! Keep sending your photos and videos to me, I love seeing them!
Also a MASSIVE HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Ethan today! Hope you have a brilliant day!
PE: It's another Joe Wicks day ... are his workouts getting harder each day or is it just me? I loved the spinner yesterday!
Maths: Can you identify fractions of a quantity?
Remember to find fractions of a quantity we divide by the denominator (the number at the bottom)
E.g. 1/4 of 12
12 divided by 4
1 2 3 4 (I create 4 groups and divde 12 between the 4 groups)
3 3 3 3
There are 3 crosses in each column
Therefore 1/4 of 12 = 3
If you are finding 2/4 you need to add 2 of the columns together so 3 + 3 = 6
a) 1/2 of 8 =
b) 1/4 of 16 =
c) 1/3 of 12 =
d) 1/5 of 25 =
e) 1/7 of 28 =
f) 1/4 of 32 =
g) 2/3 of 18 =
h) 3/4 of 24 =
English: To help Herb get out of the book the fairy god mother casts a spell to help him! Today you are going to write a spell in the form of a poem to help your own character get out of a book.
It is going to be a repeating line poem ... your repeating line could be anything the choice is yours.
Here is an example of what I'm looking for, mine rhymes but yours doesn't have to!
Feeling lost and all alone
Wanting to be all safe at home
Wish and hope and close your eyes
Hoping this is all in my head
And soon I will be tucked up in my bed
Wish and hope and close your eyes
Let's hope this magic poem works
And saves me from the bears that lurk
Wish and hope and close your eyes
Spelling:
Click on the spelling pictures below. And complete the word changers activity, don't forget to 'double the consonant before adding ing'.
Topic:
Well Done for your work yesterday! I loved looking at all your Matisse inspired art! Can you remember which century Matisse was born in? Another famous artist who lived around the same time is someone called Pablo Picasso. He was born in 1881. Place this onto the time line and locate his place of birth ( Malaga, Spain) on a globe. Today we will create self portraits in the style of Picasso.
Helping at Home:
Can you ask your adults at home if they need you to do anything?
Happy Tuesday!
Love Miss R-B, Mrs Fetherston, Mr Brown and Charlie Fudge x
