Isle of Wight

Today in class we spoke at length to the children about the upcoming residential trip to the Isle of Wight. Please find a few of the key points below...

Firstly, we spoke about the cabins. We have been allocated five cabins that can hold up to six pupils in each. Two of the cabins are for the boys and the remaining three are for the girls. The children were asked to put two names down on a slip of paper for those they would like to be with. We will endeavour to ensure that all the children have at least one of their names in their cabin.

Due to the limited number of cabins, please understand that it is extraordinarily difficult to accommodate everyone's choices, but we have tried our best. It is also worth noting that they children actually spend very little time in their own cabins over the course of our stay.

Secondly, we spoke about the activities that the children will be doing. PGL have sent out a timetable (which is attached below) and we suggest that you go online and click on the interactive tour. There, you can click on the activities to see more information about each one. The website for our particular camp is found here:

Once you have looked, you can begin to consider what you need. Attached is a kit list from PGL. Obviously, many of the activities are active and outside, so we highly recommend older clothes - and definitely an old pair of trainers for the kayaking (they are worn in the sea and will not dry out before we leave)!

Finally, a copy of the menu has been attached, so you can look through with your children and map out what they may like to eat. The food was amazing last year and there is lots on offer. There is always a salad bar and a huge range of options for the breakfast.

Next week, we will aim to send out a letter with timings for drop off etc. but if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
