Exploring Numbers 4 and 5...

Please enter an introduction for your blog post here.

Today, the children took an important step in building their number skills by creating their own representations of the numbers 4 and 5 using different objects. They had the opportunity to match their representations to the numerals, helping them strengthen their understanding of number recognition.

We also encouraged the children to count and subitise (recognize quantities without counting) as a way to check their work. As they counted, we supported them with key counting principles such as one-to-one correspondence, stable order, and the cardinal principle, ensuring they build a solid foundation for their mathematical learning.
