Multiplication
We have been learning how to multiply and divide in maths!
From now until Christmas (and beyond), the children will be focusing on their timetables during Maths lessons as part of the White Rose scheme that the school follows.
To best equip the children, as well as enable them to be successful, please support them where you can by encouraging practice at home. TTRS is a good site to use, but there is also Mathsframe, which has a number of games designed to help master times tables. Singing songs can also aid in rapid recall and any chance to practice with real life examples will help consolidate the importance of this area of maths.
For example,
- Helping with party bags, 4 sweets for each bag with 10 children coming.
- Counting egg boxes for the number of eggs in the supermarket (6 x 5)
- A football pitch can hold 90 spectators per quarter. How many spectators altogether?
Thank you for your continued support and cooperation.
