Stone Age Day! Team Brun-Cialis

Team Brun-Cialis had an Amazing Stone Age Day!
Year 3 had an amazing time consolidating their knowledge about pre-history in our Stone Age Day! The children looked amazing in their Stone Age costumes and some of them were really historically accurate (special mention must go to the shell decorations on Celeste's trousers!)
The children started off the day learning about flint knapping, a prehistoric method of chipping stone to make tools. For safety and time, the children collaborated to knap arrow heads and spear heads from bars of soap.
After break, the children made models of Stone Henge with Miss Millidine.
Then in the afternoon, the children learnt about cave painting and what historians can learn about the stone ages from these paintings. We made prehistoric paints using spinach, blueberries, and mud mixed with fat (vegetable oil) and then made simple paintings. Ask your child what they have learnt about prehistoric paints.
