FINAL day at PGL

Children filled with mixed emotions on their last day at PGL

As per, we started our day off with a nice breakfast and then got ourselves ready for some final activities. To get the senses working hard, the children were blindfolded and sent around a ‘sensory trail.’ It was hilarious to watch them grappling on to their lifeline (a rope) that provided them the pathway around their sensory course. Not only did they have to go through, under and over obstacles, they also faced an unexpected water stream to get through and were constantly being soaked with water from the instructors (and teachers of course…)!

As well as this sensory challenge, they also got their harnesses on one last time and made their way up a giant pole just to take the leap of faith onto a trapeze dangling 30 feet from the ground. Again, we were all so proud and amazed at how well every child did in these terrifying challenges. Many of the children left feeling achieved and full of confidence. Ultimately, that’s what the holiday was all about.

We’ve loved every minute of PGL and only hope the school gets to visit again one day with another lucky year group. Every child goes home today just that little bit more grown up. They’ve lived in rooms for three nights totally independently, made new friends, argued and made up, bickered and played, but most importantly: supported each other through the good times and the tough times. The staff at RAPs couldn’t be more proud of the children and look forward to reminiscing in the final weeks of year 6.
