Environmental Day at RAPS

Friday 5th November 2021

To coincide with The UN Climate Change Conference in Glasgow, last Friday RAPS took part in a whole-school Environmental Day. The aim was to understand more about the issues being raised at the COP26 and learn ways we can all do our bit to help the environment. Thanet Council came to talk to the children in Reception about the importance of keeping our environment clean and free of litter which is unsightly and harmful to wildlife. We also entered a competition to win a Scientific Weather Station for our school by creating a washing line sculpture using recycled clothing and materials. We really enjoyed making this together - we created a collage of our school initials using different fabrics - we hope we win!
