Off to Kent Life!
To enrich our learning about life in the Victorian era, Year 6 visited the Museum of Kent Life, where we undertook a number of workshops...
Walking around the site, we learned about some of the different jobs done by children and servants around the house: two of the children were small enough to fit through the smallest chimneys, so were snapped up for work!
Additionally, we met Florence Nightingale, who spoke about the importance of a bed-side manner and her work in the Crimea.
For many, the highlight was spending time in a Victorian Schoolhouse - the staff may have enjoyed it even more than the children!
All told, it was a lovely day, which was both informative and fun!
