Ramsgate Tunnels by Esme & Ryder
On Tuesday, Year 6 had a wonderful visit to the Ramsgate Tunnels linked to our topic 'World at War'...
We had a wonderful trip as we explored the depths of the tunnels. We learnt about how the tunnels were made and learnt many facts along the way. Some of the facts include: they slept in the tunnels, 500 bombs were dropped in 5 minutes and some teenagers rode their bikes along the tunnels before they reopened to the public as a local tourist attraction, etc. Eva. N said her experience was very interesting along with many others. One sad fact we learnt was that the youngest to die in the bombing was only 3 years old! The children learnt lots and after a nice lunch at Ellington Park, they went back to school with smiles on their faces :).
