  • Values Week - Buddhism

    As is customary, our first week back was spent exploring one of the major world religions. Buddhism is more of a path by which people can live their lives in a way that leads to personal enlightenment and a peaceful state of mind. We explored the origins of Buddhism, the eightfold path and went on to perform some meditation. Ask the children if they have reached a state of nirvana yet!

  • World Book Day

    This Thursday (5th March), it is World Book Day. Team Gunson are invited to come into school dressed up as a character from a book, even better if they could bring in a copy of their favourite book too! They can be as creative as they like and we are all looking forward to sharing stories with our partner Reception classes as well as meeting an author on Friday.

    This year's 'The Speaker' is focussing on climate change. We were really proud that so many children decided to write and perform their speeches; you were all really brave. Congratulations to Danika and Aaron who go forward to represent Team Gunson in the next stage here at RAPS.

  • Little Shop of Horrors

    We have been invited to attend the dress rehearsal of Little Shop of Horrors at Chatham and Clarendon Grammar School on the morning of 5th February. We will be walking to the school after registration. Children will need to bring a packed lunch in with them and we will be back before the end of the school day.

    Every term we have a fabulous performer come along for our 'Live at RAPS' assemblies. We were lucky enough this term to get a visit from the talented Bill Lowdell and his guitar 'Sticky'. Lots of fun was had by all as we joined in and sang along to some favourite tunes.

  • Melting Experiment

    As part of our learning about materials we conducted an experiment to find out which materials melted the most quickly. We discovered that margarine had the lowest melting point, which a lot of the class predicted. All that hot buttered toast obviously has scientific value!
