Day 1 Challenges: Monday 23rd March

Hi Team Barnes, 

Here are your challenges for home learning today: 

Maths: Counting to 20.  Can you do this in funny voices? slowly? Quickly? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0VLxWIHRD4E 

Challenge: Counting objects in groups from around the house.  How many do you have? Can you write the number that goes with it? 

RWI: Here is today's sound for each group. 

Miss Spurrier’s group: ng – thing on a string.  

Words for spelling: Thing, wing, bing  

Sentence: It is hot.  

Miss Taft’s group- m – maisie mountain mountain

Words for blending: Mat, mum, mop, mud 

Spelling: mat  

Mrs Barnes’ group:  ay- may I play?

Words for spelling: play, say, may, tray 

Sentence: May I play with the toy?

Miss Merry’s group: ay - May I play?

Words for spelling:  

play, say, may, tray  

Sentence: May I play with the toy?

Please record in yellow book. -Two lines of handwriting of the sound with finger spaces, three spellings with the sound in and record the sentence with a capital letter and full stop.  I have attached a photo of how you may want to lay the home learning out in your yellow book.

Don't forget to read your book or access some of the online reading links. 

Topic:Fairytales focus: What is a fairytale? What are the features of a fairytale?  Discuss with each other.  

Read/watch: Cinderella. Who are the characters? What happens in the story?  

Challenge: Can you design an invitation to the ball?  or can you build a palace/castle out of things from around the home.  

Other activities you may want to do: Cosmic kids- Youtube (mindfullness/Yoga)

Go Noodle- Youtube or website wake and shake
