Thursday's maths - 7/5/20
Sticking with our weekly theme of animals, there is a 'murder-mystery' style activity today. There are 5 clues to solve, and after each one you can eliminate suspects until there is only one left...
There are 5 clues and this may take a while so feel free to spend Friday or the weekend on it as well!!! Or just roll it over to next week. A few tips: On clue 2, when dividing by 10, imagine a decimal place at the end of the number and move it one place to the left. That way 400 ÷ 10 = 40.0 or just 40
650 ÷ 10 = 65.0 or just 65
89 ÷ 10 = 8.9
With clue 3, to read coordinates, you always go along the numbers at the bottom first and then up. In this way the coordinates (6,3) mean you start at 0, move along the bottom 6 and then count up 3.
Clue 4 asks you to change the times given to the 24 hour clock. If the time is pm then you just add 12 hours. For example, 4:45 pm would become 16:45 as I add 12 hours onto the 4!
Good luck. If you re not sure, feel free to email me!!
