Thursday's topic - 7/5/20

It is not just animals that can be found in the rainforests of the world. Oh no. There is a startling array of ingredients and resources that originate from this particular climate...

I would like you to have a look at some of theses websites and research one product that comes from the rainforest:

There are many ways you could present your learning, here are a few:

  • Create a story board showing how your chosen product is taken from the rainforest, transported to other countries and turned into the finished product for sale.
  • An information leaflet about your product, explaining how it is taken from the rainforest and what it is used for.
  • Choosing one rainforest product (such as palm oil) and list/photo all the objects / items in your house that contain it!
  • A poster or a mindmap showing what products come from the rainforest.

A couple of weeks ago I watched this Deadly 60 with my children and it covers the destruction of the rainforest in Borneo to grow more palm oil plantations and the impact on the wildlife. You like to watch it too:
