Home School
Friday 1st May 2020
Hi Team R-B,
IT'S FRIDAY! What are you all up to this weekend? I think I'm going to go on a bike ride, depending on the weather or snuggle up and watch lots of films.
PE: It's Joe Wicks dress up day! What are you going to dress up as today?
English: Can you continue writing your story about a character falling into the book? Some children yesterday found starting their story a little bit tricky, if that's you take a look at my handy hint guide below. I can't wait to see the finished results.
Spelling: I would like to see if you can do a little spelling test on the words we have learnt this week:
1. putting
2. beginning
3. dropping
4. knotting
5. flapping
6. gripping
7. drumming
8. running
9. shrugging
10. panting
Maths: This week you have all worked really hard with your fractions. Today I would like you to create a poster all about fractions and post it to the Padlet for all your friends to see.
Topic: Another significant person we are going to learn about is Mary Seacole.Take a look at the picture of Mary Seacole below. She was born in 1805, can you put her birth year on your time line.
Here is some information all about her:
https://www.bbc.com/teach/class-clips-video/history-ks2-mary-seacole-ep1/z72prj6 .
Mary Seacole even went on to build her own brilliant hospital. Find further facts here:
https://www.natgeokids.com/uk/discover/history/general-history/mary-seacole/
Today, I would like you to use these facts about Mary to write a biography about her, include headings such as: Who was Mary Seacole? What did Mary Seacole want to do? How did Mary Seacole help others?
Helping at Home: Can you help today by making your adults who have been looking after you a card to say 'thank you for being amazing'.
Happy Friday!
Love Miss R-B, Mr Brown, Mrs Fetherston and Charlie Fudge xxx
