The Sun, Moon and Stars
What we know is out of this world! Go on, ask us....
This week in Topic we have been learning all about the sun, moon and stars. We now know some AMAZING facts about them. At the beginning of the week we started off by learning about the sun. We know that the sun is really important because it gives us heat and light and without it we wouldn't survive. We also know that the sun is a star and a big burning ball of gas. We know that it is the centre of the solar system and is so big that it can fit 1 million Earths inside it. Later in the week we learnt about the moon. We know that the moon is a natural satellite, what it is made up of, that there is no gravity on the moon and no other life form (as far as we are aware). We then created some AMAZING moon art using bottle caps for the craters. Finally, we learnt about the stars. We looked at different types of constellations and had a go at making our own too. We even gave them funny names.
