Our Precious World
In our topic sessions, we have begun our new topic - exploring the world around us! Our first few sessions involved sharing what we already know and then looking at different ways in which geographers divide the world...
After the children had a discussion and were given the opportunity to share their existing knowledge, they created mind-maps to represent this. In our second lessons we looked at divisions of the world: Countries and continents, hemispheres (created by the equator), tropic lines (Cancer and Capricorn) and the different layers of the earth.
Children could then share their understanding in an information text, writing a quiz on the topic or creating another mind-map. Some examples of the learning are attached below!
