How the Heart Works!
See what we got up to in Science today!
Today in Science we learnt how our heart works!
Our heart is a big pump that beats between 60 and 100 times a minute when we are resting, but beats more when we are active.
With each heartbeat, the heart pumps blood throughout our bodies, carrying oxygen with them. The blood pumps from the heart to the lungs, the blood cells pick up oxygen, making the blood oxygenated. The blood then travels around the body, delivering oxygen, and then back to the heart to start the cycle again!
