English - Winter Sleep
We have loved exploring our new text this week!
This week, we have moved on to read 'Winter Sleep' by Sean Taylor and Alex Morss in our English lessons. We began the week by focussing just on the front cover, creating leaves to show the text's themes and making predictions. After reading the book, we then picked out scientific vocabulary that linked to information about hibernation.
In line with the book's theme of 'hibernation', we are writing our own non-chronological reports on this. Yesterday, we discussed the features of a non-chronological report. Today, we have researched hibernation and filed our research into the following sub-headings:
- Why do animals hibernate?
- What is hibernation?
- Which animals hibernate?
- How do animals prepare for hibernation?
We can't wait to share all of our amazing non-chronological reports.
