Magnificent Mondays in Team Hayzelden

What a brilliant day we have had in Team Hayzelden so far. 

Every Monday morning, we begin our day with an hour of mindfulness to support children with their transition back to school. In today's mindfulness session, we focussed on positive approaches and reflections, creating positive post-its where we labelled three positive things from our weekend. We then shared these with the class. We then played some movement games to get our bodies ready to learn. 

In our maths lesson, we began our new unit of 'Length and Perimeter'. We took advantage of the slightly warmer weather by going outside to practice measuring skills. We then began to convert some of these measurements between cm, metres and kilometres. 

Finally, to celebrate Literacy Festival, this week we will be creating our own beautiful scrap books all about Varjak Paw and his heritage. Today we created the first page all about Mesopotamia, where Varjak's ancestors came from.
