World Book Day in Team Hayzelden

We have had a fantastic day for World Book Day today! Thank you for all of your wonderful efforts with costumes and providing books. 

We began the day by sharing our favourite books and why they were our favourites. It was incredible to see such a huge range of text types and genres, including non-fiction and instructional texts. 

Then, we were treated to a wonderful story time with the Story Kween, who sang us a song and then read a story. We then created freeze frames to retell our favourite part of the story.

Throughout the day, we have also been continuing with our scrapbooks about Varjak Paw, creating a pop up family tree to show Varjak's ancestry. Some of these pieces of work will be published on the blog tomorrow, we can't wait to share them with you!

Finally, we finished our day with a visit from Mrs Piper, who read us a story called 'Have you Filled a Bucket today?'.
