Spotlight on RAPS Super Showcase
A variety extravaganza has showcased the depth of the pupils’ performance x-factor at Ramsgate Arts Primary School.
The annual RAPS Got Talent production put performer from all age groups under the spotlight on the main stage in front of an eager audience of children, staff and a pupils’ judging panel.
The variety on the bill was impressive and the whole event was co-ordinated by Year 5 pupils.
They auditioned the young performers, presented the show, judged the acts, photographed it, designed the lighting, were in charge of the props and made a PowerPoint presentation to run on the big screen behind the stage.
Assistant Head of School Hannah Dannell co-ordinated the talent show. She said: “Our Year 5 team did such a good job and were really well organised, making the show a great success.
“The children seem to get more and more talented each year. We had singing, dancing, musical theatre, poetry recitals, a band, piano playing and even Rubix cube solving. Well done to all the performers - they are all winners in our eyes.”
The standard this year was outstanding and it was tough for the judges to pick their winners. Ronnie and Emily in Year 3 came third with their gymnastics routine, Juno, Willow and Penelope were runners up with their band's rendition of 'Radioactive', and Piper and Coco came first with a performance from Six the Musical.
Head of School Nick Budge was astounded. He said: “There was a real wow factor about the show. I am aware we have some talented young performers at RAPS but the quality, standard and sheer variety was very impressive.”
He congratulated all the performers, the Year 5 team for their hard work and enthusiasm, and Miss Dannell for overseeing “brilliant entertainment which we all thought was a fabulous way to celebrate our thriving arts community.”
