Quex adventure

A fun day in the forest

This Christmas, we had a special treat—a visit to Quex Forest School! It was a crisp, winter day, and the forest looked magical, with tall trees and a touch of frost in the air.

We started by making our own Christmas baubles. Using saws and drills, we shaped wooden slices into ornaments. It was fun but a bit tricky, especially with the drills, but the instructors showed us how to use the tools safely. Once we finished, we decorated our baubles. They turned out really special, and we were excited to hang them on our Christmas trees.

Next, we fed the pigs and goats. The pigs snorted happily as we gave them scraps of vegetables, and the goats nibbled at leaves from our hands. They were so friendly and cute!

Then, we got a surprise—Santa Claus was there! He was sitting in a little wooden cabin, ready to listen to our Christmas wishes. He gave each of us a small bag of sweets, which was a lovely touch.

After that, we roasted marshmallows over a campfire. The warm fire was perfect for toasting marshmallows until they were golden brown and gooey. It was so cozy and fun!

Finally, we made our own Christmas candles. We added our own loose parts from around the forest itself.

By the end of the day, we had our baubles, candles, and lots of happy memories from a truly magical Christmas treat in the woods. It was a day filled with creativity, animals, and the Christmas spirit!
