Safer Internet Day in Team Hayzelden

We have been celebrating Safer Internet Day!

Today is Safer Internet Day, so we have been learning how to be vigilant and spot scams and phishing attempts. We began by looking at what a scam is and how they might appear. We then looked at examples of different online communications, looking for clues as to if they were a scam or not. To help us, we used the following acronym:

S - Seems to good to be true

C - Contact you did not expect

A - Asked for personal information

M - Money or trade being asked for

We then sorted different messages, highlighting parts that indicated it could be a phishing attempt.

After break, we learnt how to protect our online profiles. We discussed what a strong password looks like before playing a game that helped us design our own.

Finally, we have been playing an online game called Interland. This teaches children about all aspects of online safety, including how to protect personal information.
