Collaging with Neal Layton
Published 20/10/22, by Joshua CialisThis week, Year 4 got the opportunity to meet and create with the renowned illustrator, Neal Layton. Team Cialis created some amazing collage work with Neal based on his illustrations for John Hegley's book, Stanley's Stick.
On Wednesday, Year 4 joined primary schools from across Thanet at the Children's Book Show at St Lawrence College. This was an amazing opportunity for the children to celebrate books and learn more about the process that goes in to creating a picture book. The children who attended the show also received 2 free books.
On Thursday, Neal Layton came in to school and worked with the children to teach them how to create interesting scenes using collaging. Neal also did a live draw of the character Stanley, which he has kindly gifted to the school.
The children created some amazing eye-catching work that we are now displaying above our book corner.

Love to Learn
Published 07/10/22, by Joshua CialisIt has been great to see all of your amazing Love to Learn projects. We have had some really creative volcano sculptures made out of lego, playdough, paper mache, and cake! Team Cialis really does have some amazingly creative individuals!!
If you have not already given in your Love to Learn projects, it'd be great to see your work on Monday. During Monday's Topic lesson, we will be giving the children the opportunity to share any of the work they have done in their free time. If your child has already shown their sculpture or work don't worry you don't need to bring it in again.
Vincent made a lego volcano which was remote controlled (as seen in the thumbnail picture).
