This week in Topic we have been looking at human and physical features as part of geography.
Human feature = structures made by people for example roads, houses or railways.
Physical feature = natural structures for example mountains, rivers or oceans.
We then compared two different places in the world by looking at their human and physical features.
We had lots of fun comparing different places on Google Earth. What places can you find? https://earth.google.com/web/
It’s one of our favourite times of year at Ramsgate Arts Primary School … the Christmas Production!
This year we will be performing Lights, Camel, Action! On Monday 12th December at 9am. Details about costumes and parts will be sent out next week.
Join the jam-packed cast of nativity celebrities as they celebrate Jesus' birth with a dazzling dance show!
Thank you to all of our super parents and carers for helping the children to build their amazing Bug Hotels. The 'micro-habitats' that we have created will provide wonderful homes for all manner of mini-bests and help to promote bio-diversity in our gardens and the school grounds.
This Friday 21st October is crazy hair day! The craziest hair in each class wins a prize!
Children are welcome to wear fancy dress, donations are well received but not required to join in the fun!
Hello parents and carers! We are going to be putting up a regular blog post letting you know what we are covering in our Maths curriculum on a weekly basis. As part of this we will provide a link or two to some games that will support your child in their learning. Read on for this week's focus:
Year 2 are going to be designing and making bug hotels. We’d love it if you could collect and bringing in things to make them with.
We will need:
· straw/ newspaper
· large twigs
· pine cones
· bamboo canes (or any hollow gardening canes)
· 1 or 2 litre plastic drinks bottles
· empty cardboard 1 litre juice cartons
Please bring in anything you can by Tuesday 18th October. Every child will need either an empty 1 or 2 litre plastic bottle or an empty 1 litre juice carton as these will form the basis of their bug hotel.
Thank you!
Year 2 Team
