We Love Writing in Reception!

we’ve been having a blast adding more writing to our choosing time! The children particularly enjoyed making shopping lists before visiting "Piper’s Place" to place their orders. It was a fun way to practice writing while connecting it to real-life experiences.

This activity is important because it helps children see writing as a tool for communication and organisation. They practised spelling, handwriting, and using writing in everyday situations, which supports their development of early literacy skills.

We’re excited to keep exploring more ways to include writing in our play!
