Wonderful Writing
We have been writing some incredible informal letters in Team Hayzelden!
This term in English, we have been reading the book 'The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane'. We spent some time using role on the wall and hot seating to truly understand the character of Edward and his mannerisms. We then learnt about the features of informal letters, such as contractions (I'm, I've. didn't, can't) and chatty language, before moving on to write an informal letter from the viewpoint of Edward to his first owner, Abilene. I was so impressed with the children's vocabulary and how they challenged themselves to use words and phrases that Edward would use!
