Art to Start Term 2!

We started our new topic of ‘Light’ and today, we opened it with our Art to Start! We talked about the Northern Lights, also known as the ‘aurora borealis’, which is a natural light display that happens in Earth’s sky. We looked at some incredible pictures and videos of the lights in action, discussing the colours and patterns we could see, before having a go at creating our own Northern Lights picture using chalk and oil pastels! Holding our chalk and pastels in different ways, we made marks on our paper, smudging here and there, to create some incredible light formations in our night sky!
