Word Families!

This week we have been exploring word families, and how words are related to other words, either through spelling patterns, meaning or the root word.

The children had so much fun sorting through all the examples and matching them to the root word. It was like a 'eureka!' moment when they realised that lots of words stem from other words to make new words. 

We then used our dictionary skills to find the definitions of the new vocabulary we had learnt, as well as looking for other word families.
