Stone Age Day!

Wow! What an amazing day we have had!

Stone Age Day was an amazing way to fully emerge the children in their learning! They had so much fun and will be a core memory for them. We are so lucky to be able to give these children these enriching experiences to enhance their education!

We were hooked in by starting the day with flint knapping. The children used wooden tools to shape bars of soap to mimic the act of flint knapping. Some then turned them into necklaces.

Next up we learnt about Stone Henge, and attempted to rebuild it using biscuits and icing as cement. We really enjoyed eating it afterwards!

The children then took their time designing an outfit for their stone age people!

Our day was completed with our art to start, which this term could only be cave painting! We crushed up berries and spinach to create colour and used charcoal for darker lines to replicate cave drawings that we explored. The children LOVED getting messy and exploring art through a different medium.
