Wonderful writing

Ahead of the writing moderation on Monday 10th June, Year 6 have been working on some of our final pieces of writing...

Using the book, 'Floodland' as our inspiration, we have crafted narrative poems and a newspaper article.

The poems utilised alliteration, personification, onomatopoeia and metaphors/similes to express the sea ruling the world, being damaged by humanity then rising up to take over the land. Once written, they were typed up and given a striking background to look most impressive.

In our other piece, the newspaper article recounted the unbelievable journey of young Zoe Black in her quest to find her missing parents after leaving the island city of Norwich.

Why not ask your child if they can retell some of the events that befell Zoe on this treacherous trip?
