A weekly round up...
Read what we have been up to in class this week !
In Team Bullard this week we have been busy, busy, busy !
In English, we looked at the features of diary entries, planned and wrote as though we were the character Red from Marie Voigt's 'Red and the City'. We had a blast creating our own fairytale paper by using tea and coffee to stain plain paper and adding an illuminated letter to the start of our entries.
In reading we thought deeply about how the wolf in our story could represent more than just the traditional monster. Children felt the wolf could mean the hunger for materialistic goods, Red's emotions, the darkness in all of us and distractions.
We have been exploring a lot of inferences in our text this term and have loved playing detective to uncover what the deeper meaning of our story is about ! Our diary entries included past tense, time adverbials, emotive language, addressed the diary like a friend and were written in 1st person.
Looking forward to what next week brings for us !
Take care,
Team Bullard
