Year 3 Reading Buddies

While the adults did the initial pairing up, the children were very autonomous in the running of the session and almost everyone was fully immersed in the experience. There was a mixture of older children reading the story to their year one partners and additionally some guided reading being conducted. This allowed year one to practice and show off their love of reading to an older peer. All in all a portion of the afternoon well spent! 
The children are eager to continue this partnership so it will be repeated next Friday, meaning 'Open Classroom reading' will be postponed until Term 2 as mentioned before.
