Mass

Which side is heavier? Can you make the scales balance?

This week in Team Spurrier we have been learning all about mass. We have learnt the key words: heavier, lighter, the same, balance and scales. We then used these words when looking at mass. We learnt that we might use scales when baking, at an airport, when weighing something and at a post office so it a very good real life skill. We were comparing objects and estimating which one we thought might be heavier. Later in the week we used our estimating skills again to estimate how many cubes it would take to make an object balance. We had to look really closely because one cube too many and it would tip the scales to the other side. We have been great investigators this week.
