Daily home learning challenges Friday 17th April

Good morning Team Barnes,

I hope you had a good day yesterday getting back into the swing of doing a little bit of home learning. Remember just give it your best shot! :) 

Maths:

Counting:  Counting backwards from 30.

3d shapes- Can you name a cube, cuboid, sphere and cylinder.  

What shapes can you find around the house? Can you group them? Can you describe them? How are they the same/ different?  what properties do they have? Faces (flat part and usually a 2d shape), surface (curved part) edges the straight bits and verticies (corners/pointy bits). 

Challenge: Can you build/make something out of the 3D shapes you have found?

RWI : Here is today's sound for each group. 

Miss Spurrier’s group-  igh- fly high 

Words for spelling: high, bright, fight 

Sentence: Fly up high.  

Miss Taft’s group- 0- orange 

Words for blending:  on, top, pot.  

Spelling: on,  

Mrs Barnes’ group- oy- toy for a boy 

Words for spelling: boy, toy, enjoy 

Sentence: The boy likes to enjoy his toys.  

Miss Merry’s group- oy- toy for a boy.  

Words for spelling: boy, toy, enjoy.  

Sentence: A toy for a boy.

Please record in yellow book. -Two lines of handwriting of the sound with finger spaces, three spellings with the sound in and record the sentence with a capital letter and full stop.  I have attached a photo of how you may want to lay the home learning out in your yellow book.

RWI will be starting up their live lessons on their You tube channel on Monday 20th April too. They have added some green word lessons and spelling lessons too.

 

Friday Fun day  

Theme: Dance  

Main:  How do you grow your plant?  

Challenge: using the link below. Can you copy the dance and make up your own planting dance. What dance moves would you use? Can you film yourself doing your dance and post it on the padlet? Can you get your grown up to join in the dance too? You don’t have to use this song, you can choose any about growing.

 Hope you have had a wonderful Easter, Would like firstly to say a brilliant effort to those of you that challenged yourself with PE bingo, AMAZING!.  

So now, I am guessing you are all full up with loads of Easter chocolate so here is the NEXT PE CHALLENGE - Treasure chest...
