Maths: 

Warm your brains up by adding 1 digit numbers together speedily. Do it in your head or use your fingers, toes, cubes, pasta, beads or lego. Whatever you have near by, use it to help you quickly add these calculations. Ask you adult or sibling to time you. You do not need to write the answers down but your adult or sibling need to check your answers. Tip; when adding, start with the bigger number in your head and count on!

Do them once more, see if you can do it even faster!

Today we are going to weigh or measure mass in non-standard units. A non-standard unit is pretty much anything that you can use repeatedly to measure something. At school we have used hands or feet and paperclips to measure length before.  

If you have a balance scale, I suggest using lego (of all the same size to make it equal) or pasta to measure weight. But do not worry if you do not have a balance scale. Watch me demonstrate;       https://vimeo.com/412008025 

If you can, have a go at measuring items weight with non-standard units at home and then complete the work sheet attached below (2 measure-mass).

The aim is to identify that different items have different mass. A small item may have larger mass than a big item.
