Daily home learning: Wednesday 29th April

Good morning Team Spurrier....

It's WOW Wednesday.....who will WOW us today? Will it be you? We look forward to seeing what wonderful learning and fun will happen today :)

Maths:

Counting: Can you count how many claps you can do in 15 seconds?

Challenge:  Capacity is how much a container can hold. Volume is the amount of water (rice, sand, mud...) in a container. Can you explore capacity by using different containers or different shapes and sizes with water, sand, mud, rice...

Can you make your container full? empty? nearly full? nearly empty?

Can you find a container that holds more than your container? Less?

Can you use different tools (cups, jugs, tea spoons, spades...) to fill up your containers? What tool worked the best? Why?

See the bottom of the blog for some photos for inspiration and a pdf with questions and prompts for understanding capacity.

Do you sometimes feel a bit worried?

Feeling worried is normal, just like all feelings. The problem is, sometimes our worries become very big and we can’t stop thinking about them. One very good way to stop our worries taking over our thoughts is to talk to someone.

Sometimes, talking to a familiar adult is a good idea. If you would like to let a school adult know that you are worried or feel unsafe in any way, please go to the ‘Worried?’ section of the school website. On the page, you will see a ‘Worry Button’. If you click the button, a box will appear and you can type a message. Your message will be sent to an adult from RAPS. They will find a way to help you.

Sometimes, talking to someone else can help. On the ‘Worried?’ section of the website, you will find lots of links to other websites. You can click on these and you’ll find information, contact numbers and details of people who are able to help you.

Remember, it is normal to feel worried sometimes but if your worry is all you can think about, it is best to talk to a grown up.

If you feel unsafe, for any reason, please contact us using the worry button or use one of the provided links to find help.

Don’t forget to use the class Padlet and post some funny things to your friends.  Please remember to put your name in the comments and on your post as they all show up as ‘anonymous’. It is very secure as I have to approve all posts and comments that come through. PADLET NOW HAS A PASSWORD: rapshome You can post as many times as you like! Remember to comment on other people’s amazing work too.

Please send any photos/videos and questions to: sophie.spurrier@ramsgateartsprimaryschool.co.uk
