Thursday's English - 21/5/20
During yesterday's reading, we discovered that Christophe has a scar from a bullet. This happened during the civil war (fighting within a country) whilst he was still back in Rwanda before his family fled the fighting and moved to the UK. Today I would like you to try and write a short story about how he got his scar...
There are a few things I would like you to consider:
- It can be as long or as short as you like.
- You can write the whole story or just a part of it.
- It could be written 1st person (writing as if you ARE Christophe) or 3rd person (telling the events about Christophe).
- It should all be in the past tense as these events have already happened.
- Remember full punctuation.
- Use interesting sentence openers if you can.
To help you a bit, I have attached a couple of documents to use if you wish (you do not have to). One gives the spellings of some words you may like to use as well as some images to help with scene settings, whilst the second is an example of a story plan that you could base your writing upon. Again, if you prefer your own ideas that is absolutely fine. If you find writing stories tricky, you could instead try to storyboard the events using a few simple sentences and a picture to show what is happening. I have attached a blank one of these too.
