NEW Weekly challenges 1st-5th June

Welcome back to home learning Team Spurrier...

Hi Team Spurrier! Welcome back to home learning :)

Happy Term 6 and your final term of Reception. Can you believe how fast this year has gone?! It was definitely not the year that we expected but we are all so proud of each and every one of you and how you have adapted, grown and taken on our challenges throughout this tricky time in all of our lives. We hope you had a lovely rest, enjoyed the sunshine and have started seeing some friends and family. It is quite nice to start to have some small glimpses of normality creeping in.

This term we will be doing the blogs slightly differently as we will be going back to school to teach and I know some of you will be joining us. Due to this, (we are very excited to see the ones of you that will be coming into school) we will be posting a whole load of weekly challenges on a Monday that can be done at your leisure throughout the week. There is no expectation to do all of them but please engage with some. We have tried to create a real range of learning opportunities for you all and we hope you will enjoy them. These range from weekly P.E challenges, science experiments, art, music, writing, fine motor activities etc. You may decide that you want to timetable different activities for each day or you might want to to do lots of them one day and then have another days rest. There is no pressure at all, just do what works for your family.  If you need us for anything then please do still email us but please be aware that as we will be at school, we may be slower with our replies. Please also remember to post what you are up to on the Padlet.

We have created lots of resources in the EYFS home learning folder located at the top of the blog (password:Viking). We have created a Term 6 folder for RWI, Maths and Topic. We have put lots of printable resources, power points and lots of other learning ideas that support the tasks below. For example, topic this week may say please see the under the sea powerpoint. This means that we do not need to add the individual links to the bottom of this post as it would be too much but we have added tonnes of things to support your learning. If you have trouble accessing this then please message us.

Please see below for our NEW weekly challenges:

P.E: weekly Challenge:

Hi RAPS,

How have you been getting on with the challenges set for you?

I really appreciated some of the videos I have been sent in the last week of term 5, they were great!

Can anyone else send some in too - I would really really, really love to see how you are all getting on as I miss seeing you all.

Some of this weeks activities are a repeat (circuit training). They are just a reminder for you to keep trying them. The others are fun and for you to have a go too.

ROLLING PENALTIES - Would like to see if you are able to change this activity, or even use funny items - be safe and use your own imagination.

TUCK IN AND OUT - How many of these can you do?

FAST FEET - How can you make it more challenging? - a hint.. think of the ball size.

TAP UP TENNIS - If you don't have a racket, use your hand, If you do use your hand - you must keep your hand flat and your fingers together.  Let me know how you get on.

REMEMBER - Enjoy - Keep safe, keep well and keep smiling 😊

Mrs Horrigan

Writing Competition

Welcome back all of you from a truly beautiful half term, we experienced the perfect weather for a bug hunt! I have been inundated with your poems so far, but remember, the deadline isn't until next Friday (12th June), so please keep them coming!

If you have already submitted an entry... get back outside and write me another about a different creature you can find.

If you haven't done one yet ... what are you waiting for? I have some fantastic and very special prizes, and not just for the winners!

Martyn and I are loving reading each and every one. So, go back to the videos on your blogs from the 12th May and remind yourself about how to create one of these poems (remember to like the video which is your favourite) and its’ illustration and then get writing!

I look forward to receiving many, many more of your wonderful poems.

Best wishes,

Miss Rees-Boughton 😊
