26/03: Home Learning
Good morning, Team Amin! Yes, I know! No Tech Thursday. But I won’t tell anyone that we are using tech if you don’t...
Can I just say Team Amin (parents and children alike), you are all absolute stars! One of the most difficult things at the moment is the change in life/routine, being away from school and not seeing each other every day. It is as weird for me as it is for you, as some of you have written down in your journals. But you are all taking it in your stride, powering on and smashing home learning and I am so proud to be a part of that.
So far this week, Jacey has written a super story (and it is super, I read it!), Ryan has been exploring organs in the human body, Honey and Gracie have planted strawberry and tomato seeds, Henry has been practising his punctuation and has started his journal, Amelia has written a poem inspired by her walks, Meghan has written about monkeys and has even written a diary entry from the POV of David from GG and Willow, Luci, Oscar, Reece and Scarlett have been working out with Joe Wicks’ … and Miss Amin has been eating chocolate cake and actively ignoring Joe Wicks’ workout!
What will you do today?
Tasks:
PE: Do Joe Wicks’ workout this morning, get an adult to film it and send to Miss Amin so that she feels guilty! I need motivation to attempt it rather than using my trusty exercise bike. Remember to find a safe space to do this and to have a water bottle ready!
M: Practise your division. Start with a speedy recap of your 6x and 9x. Then, practise your bus stop method. Ask an adult or go online for a reminder of the steps. You can find bus stop worksheets and a Powerpoint in the Maths area in Home Learning.
W and T: Your biggest challenge of the day. Create a little booklet all about PLANTS (2 day activity)! You can include information like ‘What is a plant?’, ‘Interesting plant types’, ‘How do plants grow?’, ‘Features of plants’ and any other interesting headings you might like to write about. Revisit BBC Bitesize and KS2 Plants for a reminder of previous learning and use the internet to find out about unique plants! Send me information about any new plants you discover! Remember, I can learn from you too.
Extra activities:
R: Access the GG Powerpoint and listen along to Groosham Grange and/or read a chapter of a book of your choice. David Walliams is reading books online too, for you and other children around the world!
TT: Practise your 12 times tables. (Use Hit the button, chanting, TTRS etc., whiteboard)
PE: Choreograph your own dance to your favourite song at the moment OR do 10 star jumps, 1 minute of running on the spot and finally, 10 squats!
Have a wonderful day. Happy learning and keep the emails/photos coming! I've received some super examples of work and some wonderful pictures to look at and they really make my day!
