Good Morning Team Smart. I hope you are well!
Give the new Think Outside The Box activity a go, it's attached below.
Maths:
Rapid recap: True or False
“A 1p coin is the smallest coin”
“There are only 3 silver coins in our money system”
Today we are continuing our learning about measure and solving problems, but today we are going to solve problems involving length.
Remember we can measure length in centimetres using a ruler.
Today we are going to practise solving addition problems involving length. It’s just the same as adding with numbers but you need to remember to include the cm for centimetres.
Do you remember the words we learnt that tell us we need to add:
total altogether plus and more
I’d like you to have a go at the Length word problems sheet. Choose your level of challenge * is easier than ** . You can use the word bank to help you work out how to solve these additions involving length. Be careful some of them are tricky so you need to remember the golden rule – read the question carefully!
If you’d like more practise measuring in centimetres have a go at this measuring game:
https://www.topmarks.co.uk/maths-games/measuring-in-cm
I recommend you try Level 1. However, if you would like a challenge you can try Level 2 with the help of your grown up as some questions ask you to measure to the nearest half centimetre. Remember that half a centimetre is a centimetre divided into 2! Good luck!
English and Read, Write, Inc.
(Just do your groups work. If you normally do RWI, you can do the English task as an additional challenge after Speed Sounds)
Mrs Smart’s group
Continue to write your Bog baby fact report. You can take your time and you have until the end of the week to finish it. Think about how to make your heading eye catching and the picture you are going to include (you could even add labels!).
I hope you enjoy creating your fact report all about Bog Babies.
If you do finish it before Friday I would like you to practise your Set 2 and Set 3 sounds and these red words (they are all question words) in your loveliest handwriting:
when which where why who what

Topic Quiz time!!!
We have come to the end of our Animals and Us topic. I have loved seeing some of your work and I hope you have enjoyed doing it. The animal kingdom is very big and there is still lots to learn.
For today and tomorrow I would like you to complete as much of the Animals and Us Topic Quiz as possible. You can look back over the work you have done or do research on the internet, in encyclopaedias and books to find the answers if you are not sure. Your adults or siblings can work on it with you! Enjoy, I love a quiz!
Just a suggestion, if you are in contact with other families, you could perhaps join forces and do the quiz over a Zoom chat together, like a real Quiz! Have fun!
