Have a go:

Maths:
Brain starter. Play the tens frame game. Remember a tens frame is made up of two rows of 5 which make 10. The value is shown by how many circles (counters or dots at school) are filled in. When a tens frame is full, it is worth 10. https://uk.ixl.com/math/year-1/count-to-fill-a-ten-frame If you want more of a challenge search for addition using tens frames.
Let’s practice our left and right today. Little tip; you can make an L shape, the correct way around with you Left hand. Try it!
Watch this song which helps us with our left and right https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LFsVrQ65JuE
Have you got two different bracelets to wear so you can easily see your left and right? Or you could use two thin strips of paper which are different colours and make them in to bracelets? Decide which colour you want for left, maybe yellow and maybe red for right. This might help you remember.
Attached below are pictures of animals with instructions above each picture. Circle or label the correct animal. (left right animal probs)
Next time you are asking someone to pass you something, try to use your positional language (learnt yesterday) and your knowledge of left and right! E.g. “Can you please pass me the cup on the right, behind the spoon?”
But remember, Left and Right for you are always the same no matter which way you are facing. It might get confusing when someone else is facing you, because it might seem like their left and right are opposite sides. Try it out with your adult or sibling!
English/Read, Write, Inc. (if you normally do RWI feel free to try the English task, but don't forget to practice your sounds too!)
Mrs Smart’s group
Yesterday we started thinking about how to describe a story setting. Story settings usually have a theme. The Bog Baby setting theme is woodland. So you will be using words and description linked to this type of setting.
Today I’d like you start writing your setting description. Have a look at the picture called bluebell wood (attached below). Could this be a bit like the wood that Chrissy and her sister visited?
To get you started, you can start your description like this:
We went into the wood through the gate….
You can look at my example called Bog Baby setting to give you some ideas! You have 2 days to write your setting description so take your time and enjoy it!

Topic
Yesterday we started to look at plants and what they need to grow. Today we are going to look even closer at plants and learn how to identify and name the parts of a plant!
This video explains the different parts of a plant and their function:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p3St51F4kE8
Then if you are able to, get outside and try and pick a few different flowers to look at closely and bring home with you (ideally with roots).
At home, carefully and closely look at each flowering plant – use a magnifying glass if you have one! Look at the shape of the petals on the flower and the shape of the leaves. What is the same? What is different? Then start taking the flower apart gently with your hands and identify the different parts (you could stick them into your book and label them!) See plant-parts jpg to help you.
If you want to challenge yourself, identify the different parts of a flower as well. You can use the flower parts jpg to help you identify them and learn the names including new words such as the stamen (where pollen is made), the pistil (where the pollen goes to make seeds) and sepal (the special leaves that protect the flower).
Have fun scientists!
