Home Learning, Wednesday 10th June
Good morning Team Gunson. I would like you to take a few minutes to read the blog post entitled 'Living in Colour'. With the recent events in America involving the death of George Floyd and subsequent demonstrations across the world, it is worth reflecting on what we can do to understand and combat racism that we will sadly encounter in our lives.
Please see below for today's home learning.
PE: Carry on with the Viking Games or alternatively why not try a little 'Just Dance' today?
Maths: Plotting points in all 4 quadrants. After learning about plotting in 4 quadrants yesterday I have attached a sheet for you to tray. Plot the points, join the lines and see what you can find!
English & Topic: IALT write a newspaper report about the Moon landing
The moon, although uninhabitable, has actually been visited by astronauts. The first person to set foot on the moon was called Neil Armstrong.

Here are some fun facts about the first Moon landing.
I want you to imagine that you are a newspaper reporter and it is your job to write the front page for the day after the landing. Remember how we structure a newspaper report:
Headline - tells the reader what the report is about in no more than 7 words
Byline - tells the reader the name, job title and sometimes location of the person writing the report.
Lead Paragraph - Tells the reader all of the Ws - who, what, when, where, why but with NO DETAIL.
Body - use sub-headings and expand on the Ws, giving lots more detail about the events.
Sources - remember, a good reporter interviews people about the events and then quotes them in the report. Extra points if you can use both direct and reported speech.
Illustration and Caption - draw a picture of something important about the event and provide a caption telling the reader what the picture is.
Re-Orientation - Finish the report by bringing the story right up to date. What is happening now/next?
I have attached an example newspaper report about a later attempted Moon landing to help you out.
