Welcome back Team Aitken. I hope that you have had a lovely half term. Remember I am happy to help so please do not hesitate to email me if you need anything. Have a lovely day!
Maths:
Rapid recap:
I need to write the number 12 in words...twelf or twelve – which is the correct spelling?
To warm up let’s recap our understanding of number and their position on a numberline.
Using a ruler or number line, how quickly can you find these numbers: 12, 25, 6, 19, 2
Next look at the powerpoint Year-1 Numbers-from-11-to-20 which reminds us how to read and write numbers in numerals and words. Then have a go at the tasks on the sheet:
Year-1-Autumn VF-Numbers-from-11-to-20.
Have fun with number! If you want to do more – practise your number formation.
English Can I Perform a story?
Watch the video of Michael Rosen (link below) telling his famous story We’re Going On a Bear Hunt, then re-enact it yourself either as a puppet show with toys or puppets if you have them or perform the story in front of an audience. It would be lovely to see your performances (email a video to isla.aitken@ramsgateartsprimaryschool.co.uk or post to your class Padlet).
This is a great way to really get to know a story. You may already know it really well, in which case you’re going to be an expert at this!
Watch Michael Rosen here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Iou5LV9dRP0 or Mrs Smith has read it before too! See her reading it here https://vimeo.com/419614250 Password smart123 . You may have the book at home in which case you can read it yourselves!

RE
I am learning to find out about the Hajj.
The Muslim Hajj is a pilgrimage (a special journey).
Muslims journey to a place called Mecca where they believe Mohammed was born.
Mecca is the holiest city in the religion of Islam.
Have a look at What do Muslims celebrate slide 6 which explains more about the Hajj and then have a look at this video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mz3dxGVC7NE
For your RE task today, go to What do Muslims Celebrate Work6 and complete the worksheet 6A. You will need to use lines to label the parts of the picture correctly and underneath you can have a go at describing what it must be like to be on a Hajj! You might want to look at this video to give you some ideas! :
